Rocker and reality TV star Bret Michaels will undergo heart surgery in a Phoenix hospital Monday to repair a hole in his heart, the Hollywood Life blog reported.
"Bret is looking forward to feeling 100 percent again," his rep told the celebrity blog.
The Poison front-man attended a classic car show this weekend and sold his 1969 Camaro for over $200,000 before he checked into Phoenix's St. Joseph's Hospital on Saturday night to prepare for the procedure scheduled for Monday.
"Barring any complications, I should be out within three to four days," Michaels, who lives in Scottsdale, Ariz., told the Arizona Republic on January 21.
"Then, I will be down (resting) for three weeks. I don't know if I can sit around for that long, but I'll try my best," he added.
Last year was a challenging one medically for Michaels, who has Type 1 diabetes. The 47-year-old had an emergency appendectomy in April, followed by a brain hemorrhage a little over a week later and then a minor stroke in May.
Despite his health issues, the singer won “Celebrity Apprentice 3," released a new album in July, co-hosted the Miss Universe 2010 pageant in August and starred in a VH1 reality show "Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It."
On his reality TV show's final episode, aired December 20, Michaels proposed to his girlfriend of 16 years and mother of his two daughters, Kristi Gibson, 39.
