Brazilians are outraged with Chris Jericho, after the WWE star desecrated the Brazilian flag.

Entertainment gossip site TMZ reports that officials interrupted Jericho and C.M. Punk’s match Thursday night after Jericho took the flag away from Punk and crumbled it. When he took the flag and kicked it, the police stepped in.

According to the publication, Jericho was given two options: to apologize to the arena or go to jail. TMZ was told that allegedly Jericho wasn’t aware that desecrating the Brazilian flag is a crime in Brazil.

Jericho didn’t think twice and apologized for his behavior. TMZ was also told that desecrating the flag was not a planned stunt nor was it approved by WWE authority.

Unfortunately for Jericho, this stunt got him punished by the WWE, which issued a statement apologizing to the Brazilian community.

Just last month CM Punk and Chris Jericho had an over-the-top fight at Wrestlemania in Miami, Fla., where Latinos shined.

In front of the record breaking crowd Mexican "Lucha Libre" legend Mil Máscaras was presented as one of the latest inductees into the WWE Hall of Fame.

The nearly 70 year-old’s mask glittered as he stood next to the likes of the Ron Simmons, the children of Yokozuna, and the Four Horsemen.

A legend in Mexican wrestling was inducted with some of the most historic performers the profession had ever seen.

Stars were in attendance like former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson and her beau New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez.  Actor Andy García was also there.
