LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A Texas woman's push to reopen the probe into the 1991 slaying of her husband has resulted in charges against a Kentucky death row inmate and an Oklahoma prisoner serving life for other crimes.
A grand jury in New Mexico handed up indictments of 55-year-old Michael St. Clair and 52-year-old Dennis Gene Reese in April. Prosecutors hope to extradite St. Clair from Kentucky's death row and Reese from the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in the next few weeks.
Lisa Hill of Dallas began pushing for charges in the death of 22-year-old Timothy Keeling in October, after seeing St. Clair condemned to execution for a slaying in Kentucky.
Reese disclosed the indictments to The Associated Press in a phone call in April. Online court records and authorities confirmed the charges.
