A man suspected of killing the news director of a southwestern Montana television station and her family friend has died of injuries caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Missoula County coroner's office says 36-year-old Nicholas Scolatti died at a Missoula hospital shortly after 4 a.m. Friday.

Scolatti was suspected of fatally shooting ABC/Fox Montana news director Kalee Scolatti and 46-year-old Anthony Dupras on Wednesday. The relationship between Nicholas and Kalee Scolatti wasn't immediately clear.

Police have said that Nicholas Scolatti came to Kalee Scolatti's house and that she called Dupras to come over. Police say the initial investigation indicates Nicholas Scolatti shot the two and then shot himself in the head.

Family members told KTMF-TV that they had planned to remove Nick Scolatti from life support Thursday evening.
