A Texas woman miraculously survived being submerged underwater for 50 minutes by apparently breathing in her car's air pocket.
The Houston Chronicle reported that the woman plunged Thursday morning into the Lake Houston waters. Rescuers were able to pull the car to dry land and take the woman to a nearby hospital. Fishermen in the area watched the car drive into the water, KHOU.com reported, and they alerted authorities.
The condition of the woman, 60, was not immediately clear, but KHOU.com reported that she was talking to police while she was transported to the hospital. Police are investigating the circumstances behind the incident.
