A Florida judge granted bond to a woman accused of killing her husband five years ago and burying the body under a firepit she built in the backyard, according to a report.
Laurie Shaver, 38, has been behind bars since her September arrest in the 2015 death of her 36-year-old husband, Michael Shaver, a Disney World mechanic, WOFL, the Fox owned station in Orlando, reported.
She pleaded not guilty, court records show.
“The standard bond schedule for the Fifth Circuit is $50,000 for the charge of murder in second-degree. I think that is appropriate,” Lake County Judge Richard Singletary said, according to the station.

She was ordered to wear an ankle monitor and to have no contact with her husband’s family, the station reported.
Shaver's arrest came three years after deputies dug under the firepit of their Clermont home, and found her husband's remains. Investigators determined Shaver had been shot once in the head.
At the time, she was dating Travis Filmer, the father of her two youngest children, according to the station.
In addition, WOFL reported that Filmer told a prosecutor at a bond hearing Thursday that he never asked her how the body wound up in the backyard.
