Police in Durham, North Carolina, have released the name of the man shot to death by officers at a public housing complex.

Police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said in a news release that 56-year-old Frank Nathaniel Clark of Durham died after he was shot by officers Tuesday.

Police Chief C.J. Davis said Tuesday the man was shot by officers after they said he made a sudden move toward his waistband while being questioned, prompting a struggle.

Michael also released the names of the officers involved. She said they are C.S. Barkley, M.D. Southerland and C.Q. Goss. She said Southerland was taken to a hospital for treatment of a leg injury and has been released.

Michael said Clark was African-American, as are the three officers.

The State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting.
