A 12-year-old California boy, who was home alone at 8 a.m. Monday morning, was composed enough to call police and hide in his bathroom when he saw a stranger try to break into his home, FOX40.com reported.

“He’s trying to break in through my door,” the boy whispered to the dispatcher after noticing the man trying to gain entry into the family's home, the station reported.

Moments later, the boy, who hid in his bathroom, said in an even lower voice, “I think he’s in my house.”

Sensing his unease, the dispatcher said, “I want to reassure you that I have more than six officers coming, lights and sirens, to your house.”

Cops rushed to the scene. When they arrived, the suspect was gone, the station reported.

The boy was credited for handling the situation in textbook fashion.
