Looking to go on an “Eat Pray Love” journey? That solo trip may cost you.

Singles spent nearly $2,660 more per year than people in relationships, reported by The Telegraph based on a survey conducted by Good Housekeeping.

Majority of those expenses went towards travel, the survey found, with stag travelers spending up to 80 percent more than couples depending on the destination.

For example, ordering a cab to the airport, a hotel room and booking fees are much cheaper to split between two people than one traveler taking on all the expenses. Solo travelers also sometimes have to deal with the single supplement, a charge that hotels place when only one person is using the room. Fees can range up to 100 percent of the accommodation rate, according to Travel and Leisure.

The best thing singles can do to cut their costs of traveling is to book their trips a year in advance, according to an expert.

“At this time they have their whole inventory available, with more options there can be more competitive pricing,” Julie Banning, a travel agent with Ovation Vacations, told The Post.

Tourists could also look for tour operators that specialize in singles trips, The Telegraph reported. Services like Friendship Travel and Travel One don’t charge single supplements, and there’s a chance you’ll meet other like-minded travelers.
