Myrtle Beach has been described as the ultimate spring break location, full of sun, surf, and restaurants and bars galore. But don’t let the party atmosphere deter you from a potential great spring getaway. Whether you’re a family of four or an entire frat, this city has you covered.

SPRING BREAK: SAN DIEGO OFFERS FAMILY-FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES, CRAFT BREWS AND BEAUTIFUL BEACHES

The South Carolina destination is popular with tourists – and locals – year round, but it’s in the spring that this beach town really shines, with mild weather (think low 70s), warm sunshine (215 sunny days out of the year) and 60 miles of sandy beach that runs along the Atlantic Ocean.

The town boasts 425 hotels and more than 98,000 units among them, so it comes down to more of a where do you want to stay, rather than where can you stay — although as the season ramps up, your best bet will be shooting for weekdays as occupancy usually maxes out at 75 percent, versus 90 percent on weekends.

During your stay, the obvious first stop might be the beach. However, the city has more to offer beyond its sandy shores.

Try taking in the view while strolling down the 1.2-mile-long oceanfront Boardwalk, or pop over to THEBlvd, the newly expanded entertainment complex packed with restaurants and live music. Or visit nearby Brookgreen Gardens, for a more low-key afternoon spent admiring the flowers at the Botanical Gardens or checking out the native animals at the Lowcountry Zoo.
