One of New York City's Central Park ice rinks is closed for the season, leaving skaters and hockey players searching for an alternative.

Lasker Rink's Website says it will be closed for the 2014-15 skating season because its refrigeration plant must be replaced.

A parks department spokesman says workers are trying to fix the problem before the end of the season and refunds will be given to people who paid for rink time while it's closed.

The rink has been formally known as Trump Lasker Rink since Donald Trump took over running it in 2001.

Managers of the rink didn't return a call Saturday.

Nonprofit Ice Hockey in Harlem tells TV station New York 1 (http://bit.ly/1xrjhNw ) some participants are traveling to a suburban New York rink 62 miles north.
