LOS ANGELES – The actress who played Colonel Klink's secretary and then married "Hogan's Heroes" star Bob Crane has died.
Scotty Crane tells the Los Angeles Times that his mother Sigrid Valdis died of lung cancer. She was 72.
Valdis played Hilda for five seasons. She married Crane on the set of Hogan's Heroes in 1970. The marriage lasted until Crane was murdered eight years later.
A movie called "Auto Focus" was made about the murder in 2002. Valdis was played by Maria Bello.
Crane says his mother was "very against" the movie because it had "a ton of untruths in it."
