German tennis star Sabine Lisicki appeared to need a hand in shooing away a bug that landed on the court during her match at the Thailand Open on Tuesday, but instead the veteran was treated to an insect-crunching stomp courtesy of the ball girl.

A lone insect took up camp near Lisicki’s serving position in the second set of her match against Spain’s Garbine Muguruza, according to News.com.au. Lisicki attempted to gently move the insect with her racket, but failed several times.

A few moments later, the ball girl steps in – or in this case, stomps in – to help the German star.

An unsuspecting Lisicki reels in horror as the ball girl flattens the bug under her shoe. Once the initial shock went away, Lisicki proceeded to laugh it off, according to News.com.au.

The bug wasn't the only one squashed on the court Tuesday. Lisicki, a former Wimbledon finalist trying to stage a comeback, was routed by Muguruza 6-3 6-4.

The top-seeded Muguruza will move on to play Mona Barthel of Germany.
