Lucerne, Switzerland – Gary Stal birdied the first playoff hole Sunday to defeat Alexandre Kaleka and win the Credit Suisse Challenge.
Stal closed with a 1-under 70 to match Kaleka (68) at 11-under-par 273.
The duo returned to the 18th hole at Golf Sempachersee. After Kaleka missed a 25-footer for birdie, Stal converted his birdie putt to earn his second win of the season on the European Challenge Tour.
Andrea Perrino, who shared the third-round lead with Stal and Janne Mommo, stumbled to a 1-over 72 to dip into third place at minus-9.
Andreas Harto closed with a 68 to join Mommo (73) in fourth at 8-under-par 276.
Stal parred the first eight holes before connecting on a birdie effort at the ninth. He also birdied No. 12, but gave that right back with a bogey on the 13th. Stal birdied the 14th for the third straight day, but stumbled to another bogey at 17. He parred the last, but came out on top in the playoff.
Kaleka dropped a shot on the third, but birdied the seventh to make the turn at 8-under. He carded three birdies on the back nine to catch Stal.
