2024 World Series odds: Dodgers heavily favored with 3-1 lead

MLB's Fall Classic has arrived … and is quickly on the cusp of being done with.

The Los Angeles Dodgers dispatched the New York Yankees in Game 1 in miraculous fashion, with Freddie Freeman hitting a walkoff grand slam in the 10th inning, giving L.A. a 6-3 win.

In Game 2, the Dodgers survived a ninth inning, bases-loaded scare, winning 4-2 to take a 2-0 series lead.

Then, in Game 3, the Yankees' bats failed to come alive, and L.A. won the first game in New York, also by a score of 4-2, taking a commanding 3-0 lead.

The Yankees did avoid the sweep by winning Game 4 11-4. But now, arguably the league's two most-storied franchises head to Game 5 of the World Series, set for Wednesday in New York, with the Bronx Bombers trying to stay alive once again.

The Yankees are making their 41st World Series appearance, and they own 27 titles to their name.

L.A. had the best record in the National League — and in baseball — while New York had the best record in the American League. 

Furthermore, Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani is expected to win NL MVP, while Yankees star Aaron Judge is expected to win the award in the AL.
