Merida, Mexico (SportsNetwork.com) - Daniel Mazziotta closed with a 4-under 68 on Sunday and rallied to win the Mundo Maya Open by four strokes.
Mazziotta finished at 10-under-par 278. This was his first win on the PGA Tour Latinoamerica.
The Floridian birdied the fourth, but gave that shot back with a bogey on the sixth at Yucatan Country Club. After making birdie the first three days at No. 8, Mazziotta made eagle on the par-5 to move to 8-under.
Mazziotta followed with birdies at nine and 11 to grab the lead at minus-10. After three pars in a row, he traded a bogey for a birdie from the 15th. He parred the last two holes to earn the win.
Third-round leader Brad Hopfinger double-bogeyed the second and third to tumble out of the lead. He had four birdies and two bogeys the rest of the way as he posted a 2-over 74.
Hopfinger shared second at 6-under 282 with Bryan Bigley (71), Robert Rohanna (70), Peter Campbell (71), Rick Cochran III (73) and Rodolfo Cazaubon (73).
Tyler McCumber closed with his second straight 70 to grab eighth place at minus-4.
