Geneva, Switzerland – Benjamin Hebert shot a five-under 67 on Saturday to win the Rolex Trophy by a stroke and earn an automatic promotion to the European Tour.
Hebert earned his third Challenge Tour victory of the year after winning back- to-back titles earlier in 2011 in the Credit Suisse Challenge and the English Challenge. With three victories, he earned his European Tour card for the rest of the season and 2012.
He finished the tournament at 19-under 269.
Jorge Campillo (66) and Tommy Fleetwood (65) finished one stroke back at 18- under; Fleetwood had an opportunity on No. 9 to tie Hebert, but could manage only a par to come up just short.
Hebert started on the back nine in the final round because weather delays forced players to stay in their third round groupings. He finished his first nine holes at only one-under and needed a strong finish to contend.
He caught fire at the end, posting four birdies in the last six holes, including a crucial one on his last -- No. 9.
"I am very happy because I had a great finish," Hebert said. "I putted brilliantly on the back nine. I holed a putt from 15 meters on the sixth, then one from five meters down the hill on the eighth for par as I'd hit my second shot in the water with a three-wood. So that was crucial.
"And on the ninth, I hit it very close with my approach and had an easy birdie putt. It was not easy out there with all the water on the course."
Sam Hutsby (72) was a distant fourth at 15-under 273, while Florian Praegant (71) and Alessandro Tadini (66) shared fifth at minus-13.
