PITTSBURGH – Pittsburgh coach Jamie Dixon isn't a kid anymore.
The 49-year-old begins his 12th season at the helm on Friday night when the Panthers host Niagara. Dixon says he's just as driven as he was when he was hired to replace Ben Howland in 2003.
Dixon says he's heard his name come up for other jobs over the years but has no plans on leaving. His current contract runs through the 2022-23 season.
The Panthers return three starters from a team that went 26-10 last winter, though guard Cam Wright is out for at least another few weeks with a broken foot.
