Eduardo De La Riva fired a six- under 65 Sunday to earn a one-stroke win at the Fred Olsen Challenge de Espana.

De La Riva finished at 19-under-par 265. The victory was his first on the European Challenge Tour.

The Spaniard started a spotless round with birdies on the first and third. After a birdie on the seventh, De La Riva birdied the short par-four ninth for the fourth consecutive day to make the turn at 17-under.

Around the turn, De La Riva birdied the 12th and 17th. He parred the last, then waited to see if anyone could catch him.

Simon Wakefield played alongside De La Riva and right there with him the whole round. Wakefield bogeyed the second, but birdied four of five holes from the sixth to jump to minus-16.

He posted back-to-back birdies at 16 and 17 to get within one of De La Riva. Wakefield parred the last to end one back.

Since none of the three players in the final group broke par, the title was De La Riva's.

Scott Henry (64), Luis Claverie (66) and Alexander Levy (66) shared third place at 16-under-par 268.

Third-round leader Daniel Vancsik stumbled to a one-over 72 to end in a tie for sixth at minus-15. He was joined there by Domenico Geminiani (69) and Charlie Ford, who fired a 10-under 61 in the final round.
