Toronto, ON – Jose Calderon recorded his second triple-double of the season with 18 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds in the Toronto Raptors' 103-96 win over the Houston Rockets.
Alan Anderson netted 24 points and DeMar DeRozan added 19 points and seven boards for Toronto, which has won two straight on the heels of a six-game losing skid.
"The key was we didn't turn the ball over. In the first half we gave up threes, in the second half we held them. We're getting back to playing defense," Toronto head coach Dwane Casey said.
Ed Davis donated 13 points in the triumph.
James Harden led all scorers with 28 points for the Rockets, who have dropped four of their last six contests.
"We didn't play well enough," Rockets head coach Kevin McHale said. "We had too many mistakes, they made big shots. Defensively, we never looked good."
Marcus Morris tallied 19 points, while Omer Asik registered seven points and 13 boards in defeat.
A pair of Anderson free throws gave the Raptors a 93-84 advantage with 3:07 to play, but an ensuing 11-4 Houston run pulled the visitors within 97-95 after Harden sunk two free throws with 17 ticks left.
Anderson made two foul shots at the other end with 13.9 to play before Chandler Parsons split a pair to trim the margin to 99-96. Anderson's three- point play with 11 ticks to go sealed the outcome.
The Rockets led, 28-26, after a quarter of play, but Toronto outscored the visitors, 23-21, in the second and knotted the contest at 49-49 heading into the break.
The Raptors took a 77-71 edge into the final frame.
