The NBA season is cooking, which means it's time to dive into the regular-season MVP market.

As the winner of the NBA's most coveted award in three of the last four seasons, Nikola Jokic will look to make history by winning four out of five.

Celtics legend Bill Russell won four out of five from 1960-61 to 1964-65, and LeBron James did the same between 2008-09 and 2012-13.

Those are the only two names to accomplish the feat in league history.

Jokic opened the season at +400 to win the award, and through a few weeks, he is top-two in the league in points, rebounds and assists.

Let's take a look at the NBA MVP odds at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Dec. 9.

2024-25 NBA MVP odds:

Nikola Jokic: -110 (bet $10 to win $19.09 total)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: +275 (bet $10 to win $37.50 total)
Giannis Antetokounmpo: +750 (bet $10 to win $85 total)
Luka Doncic: +750 (bet $10 to win $85 total)
Jayson Tatum: +1300 (bet $10 to win $140 total)

Welp, Jokic is back to his old ways again.

As of Dec. 16, he's averaging 31.5 points (second), 13.3 rebounds (second) and 9.8 assists (second), while shooting 56.4% from the field and 51.2% from beyond the arc. He's also shooting 80% from the line.

But that's not to say SGA and Tatum haven't been great in their own right, specifically when it comes to team success.

Jokic's Nuggets are 13-10 on the season, while SGA's Thunder are 20-5 — they have been without star center Chet Holmgren for a few weeks already — and Tatum's Celtics are 21-5, the second-best record in the NBA.
