WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange insisted that the thousands of emails from Hillary Clinton, her State Department staff, close allies and the Democratic Party that the website has published didn’t come from the Russian government.

Assange spoke to Russia Today on Thursday and firmly denied Clinton’s assertions that the hacked emails came from Russia. Clinton and her campaign have repeatedly claimed the Russia was the culprit in the hacking scandal, while the White House has blamed Russia for allegedly hacking political sites and email accounts.

“The Clinton camp has been able to project a neo-McCarthyist hysteria that Russia is responsible for everything,” Assange said. “Hillary Clinton has stated multiple times, falsely, that 17 US intelligence agencies had assessed that Russia was the source of our publications. That’s false – we can say that the Russian government is not the source.”

Assange, speaking to Russia Today from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, said that he felt bad for Clinton as a person because he sees someone “who is eaten alive by their ambitions, tormented literally to the point where they become sick – for example faint – as a result of going on, and going with their ambitions.”

The WikiLeaks email dumps have shared the spotlight in the election with Clinton, her private server scandal, the Clinton Foundation scandal and rival Donald Trump. The initial email dump in July showed the Democratic Party’s disdain for Bernie Sanders and led to the eventual ouster of former chair Debbie Wasserman- Schultz.

Fast forward months later and days before the election, the FBI is investigating emails found on former New York Rep. Anthony Weiner’s computer that apparently contains emails from Clinton’s homebrew server during her tenure at the State Department.

WikiLeaks has also published a series of emails from John Podesta, detailing his ties to the Clintons.

As WikiLeaks gets ready to inevitably release more emails, sources told Fox News on Wednesday that the probe into the Clinton Foundation was now a “very high priority.”

"There is an avalanche of new information coming in every day," one source told Fox News, who added some of the new information is coming from the WikiLeaks documents and new emails.

FBI agents are "actively and aggressively pursuing this case," and will be going back and interviewing the same people again, some for the third time, sources said.

WikiLeaks has released more than 30,000 emails from Clinton’s private server, about 20,000 emails from the Democratic National Committee and more than 50,000 emails from Podesta.
