America Ferrera, Demi Lovato, Eva Longoria to speak at Democratic National Convention

Singer Demi Lovato and actress America Ferrera, two Latina millennial entertainers who have also worked as vocal activists for Hispanic causes announced on Twitter respectively that they will be speaking at the Democratic National Convention next week in Philadelphia. An aide on Hillary Clinton's campaign confirmed their speaking slots at the DNC to Fox News Latino.

" I'm going to @DemConvention next week in Philly!!" Lovato said on the social media platform to her 37 million followed which was then retweeted more than 3 thousand times by the time of this writing.

Ferrera also said that "Girls" creator Lena Dunham has also been invited to speak.

“Honored 2 announce that @lenadunham & I will be speaking 2gether at @DemConvention in support of @HillaryClinton!” she wrote.

Joining them will be fellow actress Eva Longoria, who also took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce her attendance at the convention.

The three prominent Latina entertainers have been very vocal in their support of the former Secretary of State throughout this presidential campaign. Both have appeared on several occasions at Clinton events.

It’s no surprise that Ferrera, 32, best known for her award-winning role in “Ugly Betty,” will be speaking at the convention as she has been an avid supporter of Clinton since her 2008 presidential run against Barack Obama.

“(Ferrera has) been a strong supporter of HRC for a long time,” Lorella Praeli, the Latino Outreach Director for the Clinton campaign, told Fox News Latino in February. “She brings a strong voice to the conversation, and

[as] a young Latina, it’s important to have voices we can trust.”

Praeli added, “When it’s America sitting across from you in a room full of Latinas talking about why it’s important to mobilize voters and how they will impact this election … it’s significant because she has been a prominent voice for Latinos.”

Lovato, 23, joined the Clinton campaign during a stop in Iowa earlier this year, saying on Instagram at the time, “I couldn't have been more excited to support such a courageous, loving and #CONFIDENT woman in Iowa ... It was an honor to share the stage with you in your campaign to become the FIRST WOMAN PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!!!! You have my vote!!!”

Other stars joining Ferrera, Lovato and Longoria are former NBA centers Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Jason Collins, as well as actors Erika Alexander, Tony Goldwyn, Chloe Meretz and Debra Messing.

Other Latino entertainers who have endorsed Clinton include Salma Hayek and Wilmer Valderrama, singers Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Christina Aguilera and Marc Anthony. None of them have announced whether or not they plan to attend the convention next week.
