He has co-authored and co-edited several books including “Teaching the World: Foundations for Online Theological Education.” In addition, he is an active member of the Evangelical Theological Society and the Association of Christian Distance Education.

Dr. Etzel holds the bachelor of science degree in finance from Indiana Wesleyan University. He also earned a Master of Arts in Religion, a Master of Divinity, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and a PhD in Leadership from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He is married to Whitney and they have one daughter and two sons.
