As we prepare for Father's day this Sunday, I've been so blessed to have a fantastic father in my life. So today, I wanted to spend a moment to talk about what dad’s actually give us!
Dad’s give us dedication: to attending all of those violin recitals, sporting events, and school concerts.
Dad’s advise us on how to act. My dad used to always say to me, “Gretchen, people will know what kind of person you are by the way you act.”
Dad’s give us determination. Raising us the best they can to give us strength, courage, and the self-confidence to take on anything in the world.
Dad’s give us sympathy! Yes, my mom used to discipline me a bit more than my dad, however, it was always great to know he was just a phone call away to hear my side of a teenage argument, and give me love and a bit of sympathy too. Footnote: It didn't mean I ever got out of being grounded!
I know how grateful you are if you still have your dad in your life as I know I am. So as we look forward to Father's Day, I just want to say thank you, dad!
