Republicans are demanding action after classified documents were found at President Biden's think tank just days before the 2022 midterm elections, which dated back to his time as vice president.
Rep. Michael Waltz, R-Fla., joined "Fox & Friends First" Tuesday to discuss the hypocrisy surrounding the revelation after the president and Democrats scrutinized Donald Trump for having classified material at his Mar-a-Lago home.
"My question is, these were apparently documents from his time as vice president, so they've been sitting around for five years," Waltz told Todd Piro and Carley Shimkus.
"How long have they been sitting around? Who had access all of this time? How many people had access all of this time? And so what you're hearing from the Democrats, mainstream media, already trying to whitewash this whole thing, because, of course, people are asking, where's the FBI raid? Where is this big show of force to make sure there are no other classified documents?"

"They're trying to make these comparisons, this whitewashing kind of exercise, and say, no, what they self-reported," he continued. "But we have all of these other questions that are completely unanswered… If anyone deserves a special prosecutor it's this because obviously the DOJ reports to Joe Biden."
The documents were discovered on November 2 at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement in Washington, D.C., but it was not revealed until Monday that that was the case, months after the pivotal elections.
White House special counsel Richard Sauber released a statement on the discovery saying, "The documents were not the subject of any previous request or inquiry by the Archives. Since that discovery, the President's personal attorneys have cooperated with the Archives and the Department of Justice in the process to ensure that any Obama-Biden Administration records are appropriately in the possession of the Archives."
Biden appeared to dodge questions on Monday during his visit in Mexico. A reporter asked, "Any response to the discovery of classified documents at your office?"
He did not respond.
Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., called out the double standard afforded to Biden, demanding action to find out the truth.
"It's a double standard," Norman said on "Fox & Friends First" on Tuesday.
"There's got to be consequences now. You cannot just overlook this, as the mainstream media has done with the Bidens, and that's what's so great about what's going on now with our House leadership and the investigation that James Comer is going to have, and hopefully will have consequences as well and get to the bottom of it. "
Although the Department of Justice has vowed to take a look at the records, critics have been quick to scrutinize the department's handling of the incident, months after Trump's Florida home was raided by the FBI.

"It's a dereliction of duty by the FBI," Norman said. "These are classified documents that have sensitive material that could really endanger this country and all of us citizens, so we'll see what they do."
"And that's why it's so great to have new leadership and get to the bottom of it and ask questions," he continued.
Trump reacted to the DOJ's difference in handling Biden's classified document scandal on his social media platform, Truth Social.
"When is the FBI going to raid the many homes of Joe Biden, perhaps even the White House? These documents were definitely not declassified," he wrote on Monday.
