“Daily Show” host Trevor Noah examined the bitter relationship between President Trump and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif, amid the partial government shutdown.

Last week, Pelosi sent the president a letter calling to delay the State of the Union address, originally scheduled for Jan. 29th, until the government reopens. But on Wednesday, Trump sent a letter stating he was going forward with the speech, which was refuted by the House Speaker. He later announced on Twitter that he would indeed postpone the traditional address until after the shutdown.

Noah insisted that no one can tell Trump where “he can or cannot go,” pointing to reports that he walked into the dressing room of the Miss Teen USA pageant.

“What are you gonna do if Trump decides to show up, have a congressional bouncer stop him?” Noah jokingly asked.

The Comedy Central star called Trump’s forfeit on giving the State of the Union address in the House of Representatives a “surprise” and mocked his assertion to the press that he calls Pelosi “Nancy.”

“I don’t know if Nancy gave Trump a wedgie behind Congress one day, but she did something because she’s the only person he hasn’t given a nickname to, Noah told his audience before listing many of the president’s most notable nicknames like “Lyin’ Ted,” “Little Marco,” “Cryin’ Chuck Schumer” and “Pocahontas.”

The “Daily Show” host then shared reporting of some of the consequences the nation faces due to the shutdown like shortages at the TSA, possible delayed tax returns from the IRS and the FBI not being able to pay informants.

“The FBI can’t do their jobs. They can’t pay their snitches anymore. That means that the snitches can’t afford stitches,” Noah quipped.
