Todd Fisher opened up about how his family is doing since the deaths of his mother Debbie Reynolds and sister Carrie Fisher.
He told Us Weekly the family is “heavily shaken up.”
“We took this huge loss,” he said. "They were no small girls. They were no small change. When they left the planet, they left a lot of people kind of shaken. And we're no exception to that.”
Fisher said the family has leaned on their faith during this tough time.
"We're people of faith — my mother raised us that way, and we believe we will all meet again,” he said. “And without those thoughts, it would all be pretty depressing. It would be wholly unacceptable to think we'd never meet again.”
He added that the 24-year-old daughter of Carrie Fisher, Billie Lourd is “struggling.”
"You know, she's 24 years old and just took a huge shot,” he told Us Weekly of the actress. “You can see her on Instagram sucking it up and acting like everything's fine, but it’s very tough.”
He said he knows the “Scream Queens” starlet will overcome the losses because she is strong like her mother and grandmother.
“She's going to pull through. She's just going to limp along a little bit. And she's an excellent actress."
Todd Fisher said he has found comfort in knowing how close he was to his mother and sister.
“We all had a very close relationship and nothing was left unspoken or undone, so there's no regrets,” he told the magazine. “That is important… And so it was beautiful that we all had those moments, not knowing they were our last moments, but at least we had them and we're all a little more OK with the loss because of that.”
