“The Good Fight” is not a series that’s shy about getting into the weeds of today’s political climate. In the upcoming third season, the creators have revealed that it will be as up-to-date on current events and slam Donald Trump more than ever.

As fans know, Season 2 ended with the now infamous 2017 clip of Donald Trump saying, “the calm before the storm.” That will act as the jumping off point for Season 3.
“This season is about finding out what that storm is,” Robert said (via The Hollywood Reporter). “It’s about what happens when the guard rails are coming off of our institutions.”

The show will run so concurrent with current events that they admitted they’ve got backup plans in place should Robert Mueller’s investigation turn up Earth-shattering evidence or lead to a surprise impeachment.
While the show tends to make hay out of criticizing the American right, USA Today notes the creators shared that they believe they’re making efforts to satirize the left as well.

“Here’s the sad thing about us: We’re not real fans of shows that preach to the choir," Robert said. "Our show is accused of doing it, but it’s really a satire of the left. ... Racism on our show (is about racism within the left). ... It’s about people who pat themselves on the back for giving to all the right (causes) who are really scumbags."
