Paulina Rubio recently admitted that her tumultuous separation from Nicolás Vállejo-Nagera has not been easy, especially for the couple’s son Andrea Nicolás.
In an exclusive interview with Mario Lopez that aired on NuvoTV, the Mexican singer opened up for the first time about the difficulties – both emotional and legal – about finalizing her divorce to the Spanish businessman.
“I’m going to talk to you about this because we are friends,” Rubio told Lopez. “I’m not divorced yet. It’s been hard to struggle for so long to sign the papers. It’s been hard for the baby, but hopefully things will be more quiet and more in balance.”
The singer didn’t talk about her relationship with singer Gerardo Bazúa, but did say that she is open to being married again.
“I don’t think it’s not just about commitment – relationships are hard,” she said. “Nobody is perfect. I am looking for someone who will let me be, who understands my passion for the art.”
The former “X-Factor” judge also opened up about her late friend Jenni Rivera, who appeared with Rubio on “La Voz,” Mexico’s version of "The Voice."
“Jenni was someone really, really special, and I feel she is still here and she is still my friend,” Rubio said. “When something like that happens so close to you, so suddenly, you cannot really understand. It’s hard.”
