Mariah Carey wants to clarify that she does not know Jennifer Lopez.
Or rather, she knows her, but she doesn't know know her.
The songstress touched on the decade long alleged “feud” between her and the “Ain’t Your Mama” singer while on Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live!” on Wednesday.
"That was so long ago," she said. "I can't believe people still make such a big deal out of it."
The “feud” in question began in the early 2000s when a reporter asked Carey about Lopez, and the "We Belong Together" singer responded with a simple, “I don’t know her.”
It’s been more than 10 years, but fans are still taking about it because both parties have fueled rumors with off-the-cuff comments. For example, in March, Lopez told Wendy Williams that Carey is “forgetful I guess! We’ve met many times. I don’t know … I don’t know her that well.”
“Apparently, I'm forgetful,” Carey quipped back to Cohen on Wednesday night. “It wasn’t like I don’t know who she is – of course I do. That’s not the question.”
"The question was about Beyoncé and I was saying I think she's super talented. She's a friend of mine. She's always been sweet to me. She's always been very cool and then they asked me another question (about Lopez)," she said.
Carey added, "What am I supposed to say? I'm not going to put on a thing like we're all Hollywood, and let's pretend we're best friends."
