Marc Anthony opens orphanage in Toluca, Mexico for homeless and neglected girls

We swoon when we hear him sing, but now we’re really falling in love.

Grammy award-winning singer Marc Anthony is no stranger to making a difference in the lives of orphaned children. On Friday, Anthony, 47, cut the ribbon on his fourth orphanage — this time it's a girls-only institution in Toluca, Mexico.

Maestro Cares, the foundation Anthony launched in 2012 alongside entrepreneur Henry Cardenas to benefit neglected and homeless children in Latin America, has developed orphanages in the Dominican Republic, Colombia and Puerto Rico.

"Our mission is to help Latin American children in creating healthy and safe environments, but a major priority is also supporting their academic needs. Education is key for Maestro Cares because it will bring the children closer to their dreams. They are our future leaders," Cárdenas is quoted saying on the foundation's website.

"These are the things that fulfill my soul! So happy to celebrate the opening of a new girls orphanage in Toluca, #Mexico. #MaestroCares," Anthony captioned a photo on his Instagram of the ribbon cutting ceremony.

"There are millions of children suffering throughout Latin America. Maestro Cares seeks to make a positive change for many of these children," the No Me Ames singer said. "I hope Maestro Cares will inspire others to do the same."
