Dynamic husband wife duo Katey Sagal and Kurt Sutter are back again with a new series for FX, “The Bastard Executioner.”

Sagal worked with Sutter for six years as he created the hit show “Sons of Anarchy.” The actress chatted with FOX411 about what it’s like to work with her husband after all these years.

“It’s great to work with my husband. I loved working with my husband,” she said with a smile. “It’s interesting when people realize we work together. It’s not like we sit across the desk from each other. We work together but we have very different jobs.”

The upcoming show, starring Stephen Moyer, tells the story of Wilkin Brattle—a 14th century warrior – whose life is changed when a divine messenger urges him to lead the life of a journeyman executioner.

Sagal’s role in “The Bastard Executioner,” allowed her to transform into a character that is “rooted in faith rather than fear.”

“And then all the physicality—I always like to play parts that have a different physicality from myself,” she explained to critics at FX’s TCA panel. “It's easier for me in a way to have all the    you know, when I put the wig on and I'm in these peasant clothes and, thank God, no high heels … and the accent, and there's just such a different    it's just exciting.”

Sagal said this time around things were a bit different when it came to how she worked with her husband.

“It’s a little different in that we have acting scenes together. We never had that in ‘Sons,’” she said. “That’s pretty fun; he’s a great actor. We have a rhythm to the way we work. When we go home it’s about our home and then we work.”

The “Married… with Children” star said husband is her biggest supporter especially in casting roles for her.

“He’s always thought probably more of me of an actor than I think of myself,” she said.  “So I think he kind of formed this part in his mind and I’m sure in some ways it’s my own searching and seeking and being that kind of person.”

“The Bastard Executioner” debuts Sunday, September 13th with a two-hour premiere.
