"View" host Joy Behar called President Trump's entire presidency a "cover-up," specifying on Thursday that it was humorous for him to push back on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's criticism from Wednesday.

"I wish my stand-up act was as funny as that line," she said. "Because I mean, let me count the ways -- his high school grades, his taxes, his financial records, his conversations with [Russian president Vladimir] Putin ... his hush money payments are all cover ups."

Behar was commenting on Trump's response to Pelosi, D-Calif., who accused the president on Wednesday of engaging in a cover-up.

"I don't do cover-ups," Trump told reporters while speaking in the Rose Garden on Wednesday.

The incident came as Democrats pressed the administration on its refusal to cooperate with congressional efforts surrounding the Russia investigation.

"His whole administration is one big cover-up," Behar commented on Thursday. Co-host Meghan McCain followed by saying that she was saddened by the politicians' comments and the overall tone in Washington, D.C.

"I think it's a really sad day for America and I think the days of [former President] Ronald Reagan and [former House Speaker] Tip O'Neill, [D-Mass.] are so long gone," she said, indicating the two parties are not working together for the country.

She added that both Pelosi and Trump engaged in the "worst kind of party posturing on both sides."
