'Jerry Maguire' star talks being bullied, struggling with anxiety

Jonathan Lipnicki achieved success as an actor when he was just six-years-old when he landed the role of Renee Zellweger's son in "Jerry Maguire." He went on to star in the "Stuart Little" movies as well as land roles in various television shows.

However, the 26-year-old revealed in an Instagram post that he struggled with anxiety stemmed from being bullied throughout his childhood.

"As a kid/teen, I was made fun of relentlessly by some people who are now even my friends on FB," he said in the emotional post. "I was told I was a has-been and would never book a job again. I was made to feel like garbage every day of middle school to the point where I had a panic attack every night before school, because I wondered how I would get through the next day."

He continued, "In high school, a certain kid emphatically called me a has-been in front of my Econ class … It was humiliating."

The actor told TooFab he has been in treatment for anxiety and depression for a long time. He even developed eczema on his palms from frequently running his hands together due to his anxiety.

Lipnicki doesn't want to bee seen as a victim, he said adding that he has appeared in more movies as an adult than he did as a child actor.

"I didn’t expect to feel like this, but I do,” he said on Instagram. "Sure they aren’t studio films or wide releases, but they are in theaters! I am chasing my dreams and couldn’t be happier."
