A short preview of Carrie Underwood's version of "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" has made its way online, giving fans of "Sunday Night Football" a taste of what they can expect to hear in the upcoming NFL season.
Much like the theme songs from "A Different World" and "Weeds," the opening music from NBC's "Sunday Night Football" gets a fresh voice to take over singing duties every few seasons. Underwood is the latest to lend her voice to the show's signature song, following musicians Pink (in 2006) and Faith Hill (from 2007 to 2012).
It's still too early to tell if Underwood's version will differ from previous versions, although the preview makes it clear that she's sticking with a similarly rockin' take on the tune, which itself is based on "I Hate Myself for Loving You" by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.
What do you think of Underwood's new theme?
