Evangeline Lilly receives apology from 'Lost' creator J.J. Abrams for nude scenes

J.J. Abrams and his “Lost” co-creator Damon Lindelof have apologized to Evangeline Lilly for how uncomfortable she felt on the set of the former hit ABC series.

Lilly, who played Kate Austen on the show, recently revealed that she was left crying after having to shoot a nearly nude scene.

“In Season 3, I’d had a bad experience on set with being basically cornered into doing a scene partially naked, and I felt had no choice in the matter,” said the 38-year-old actress. “And I was mortified and I was trembling and when I finished it, I was crying my eyes out and I had to go on do a very formidable, very strong scene thereafter.”

Another incident popped up in Season 4 when Lilly tried to regain control of a semi-nude scene, but she lost it. She ultimately refused to do nude scenes ever again.

Now, Abrams and Lindelof, as well as executive producers Jack Bender and Carlton Cuse, are saying sorry.

“Our response to Evie’s comments this morning in the media was to immediately reach out to her to profoundly apologize for the experience she detailed while working on LOST,” they told Page Six in a joint statement. “We have not yet connected with her, but remain deeply and sincerely sorry. No person should ever feel unsafe at work. Period.”

ABC didn’t return Page Six’s request for comment.
