In the clip, Hasselbeck slams the morning after pill – which doesn't actually terminate pregnancy, but prevents fertilization – as equivalent to "birthing a baby and leaving it out in the street." Walters tells Hasselbeck to stop, adding, “We have to go on and we have to learn how to discuss these things in some sort of rational way.”
The show then cuts to a commercial and Hasselbeck begins to cry. "F—k that," she says in the clip. "I’m not going to sit there and get reprimanded on the air. It’s not OK to sit there and get reprimanded on the air.”

Hasselbeck then reportedly hid in her dressing room until producer Bill Geddie convinced her to come out just minutes before filming ended.
After the moment went viral, Hasselbeck wrote on Instagram, “I was pregnant with Taylor and a big conversation about the value and the lives of the unborn took place at 'The View.' It was a battle — but not of the flesh. I used fighting words because I believe that God decides the value of the lives of babies.”
