There are some things the Robertson family does that won’t make it to air on their A&E show.
For example, according to a new report in Men’s Journal, though none of the “Duck Dynasty” cast members smoke cigarettes, they all chew tobacco.
Phil Robertson introduced his sons to the habit when they were young.
"When you're dealing with young men, for lack of a better term," he told Men’s Journal, "it's best for them to discover the great outdoors, and, in my humble opinion, to make sure they stay men, give them a little chewing tobacco from time to time. Spitting on the ground is a sign of maleness in our culture down here."
In the interview with Men’s Journal, the family also opened up about their values, revealing some personal details about their lives.
"I've never done drugs," Jase said. "And I've never been drunk."
He added that he refrained from having premarital sex.
"I've never had immoral sex. My first sexual experience was on my wedding night."
Jase also discussed what it was like to grow up with Phil as his father. He said Phil used to whip him with a belt if he misbehaved.
"The worst part of the whippings is we had to go lean over the bed and wait for him to come do it, like 30 or 45 minutes, so you had time to really think about what was coming."
