Drew Barrymore took a royal trip down memory lane Thursday night when she chatted with Jimmy Kimmel as a guest star on his late-night show.
While chatting about how President Trump is expected to meet Queen Elizabeth during his visit to Britain next month, Kimmel paused for a moment to show the crowd a framed black and white photo of a young Barrymore smiling at Princess Diana.
"I would imagine this is something you'd probably remember," Kimmel said as the camera zoomed in on the old picture, featuring Barrymore handing the princess a stuffed animal with her godfather and "E.T." director, Steven Spielberg, standing close by.
“I remember it like it was yesterday. It was the most exciting moment for me to meet a real-life princess, the real-life princess, the people’s Princess," the "Santa Clarita Diet" star told the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" host.
The mother of two girls — Olive, 5, and Frankie, 4 — Barrymore said Princess Di was "the epitome of a woman that all little girls look up to.”
Barrymore said she loved her "regal moment" with the princess, who she described as "kind" and "so nice."
"Growing up with her as a princess was just such a good example," Barrymore, 43, continued.
