In August of last year, a court determined David Mueller assaulted Taylor Swift during a 2013 visit to a Colorado radio station.

The pop star was awarded a symbolic $1 in damages after a jury found the radio host had put his hands under Swift’s dress and groped her buttocks during a meet and greet photo.

But almost 12 months after the verdict, Mueller continues to maintain his innocence and now claims that the incident "ruined" his life.

Mueller, who was fired from his Colorado job after the assault and now hosts a show in a Mississippi station, told Radar the trial has left him feeling broken.

“How can you live with yourself? You ruined my life,” Mueller said. “I was not ready for the photograph. I admit it was awkward but I never grabbed her. It’s not even close to what happened.”

The radio host claims he was “always the gentleman” around women but now receives constant jokes about the trial.

“Now I’m afraid to even talk to women. I feel like I’m in a prison,” Mueller said. “I’m not myself anymore. I don’t even go near women.”

Despite Mueller clearly harboring some resentment towards Swift, he claimed he didn’t “want anything bad to happen to her” and had no regrets about his unsuccessful attempt to sue the star over her allegations.

After winning the court case, Swift released a statement saying her legal fight was for “anyone who feels silenced by a sexual assault."

“I acknowledge the privilege that I benefit from in life, in society and in my ability to shoulder the enormous cost of defending myself in a trial like this,” she said.

“My hope is to help those whose voices should also be heard. Therefore, I will be making donations in the near future to multiple organizations that help sexual assault victims defend themselves.”
