Charlize Theron posted a star-studded photo of herself and her Oscars 2020 guest, mother Gerda Maritz.
The actress was on hand during the 92nd annual Academy Awards Sunday because she was nominated in the highly coveted best actress category for her role as Megyn Kelly in “Bombshell.” Two days after Hollywood’s biggest night of the year, she took to Instagram to show off a celebrity-filled selfie that she took, presumably from her seat.
“Good company. #Oscars2020,” she captioned the post.

The selfie includes the mother and daughter duo sharing the screen with Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Salma Hayek, Regina King, Rami Malek and some more. Given the location of the selfie, other stars such as Quentin Tarantino and Keanu Reeves can be spotted in the background, blissfully unaware that they’re in the snap.
Unfortunately for Theron, she lost in her category at the show when it was announced the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences voters opted to give the accolade to Renee Zellweger for her starring role in the Judy Garland biopic, “Judy.”
Although she lost this year’s shot for her second Oscar, Theron received an equally rewarding accolade — praise from her mom.
Speaking with E! News on the red carpet, Theron joked that she won the award for best date.
“Amazing, I’m very proud,” Gerda said.
“Oh are you?” Theron joked.
“Yeah, a little bit,” she quipped back. “Just a little bit.”
Her mom went on to refer to her kid’s acting abilities as “mind-blowing.”
“Aww,” Theron said. “I feel like I already won. I can go home now.”

The star turned heads on the red carpet not just for her date, but for her Dior Couture dress as well. Theron channeled Angelina Jolie’s 2012 gown that went along with a diamond necklace from Tiffany & Co. valued at $5 million and featured 165 diamonds total. She also sported diamond studs and band rings from the jeweler.
