Carrie Underwood can’t believe it’s been eight years since she said “I do” to Mike Fisher.
The country singer posted a sweet message on her Instagram Tuesday to celebrate her anniversary.
“Here’s to 8 years, babe! Where does the time go?!” she wrote in the caption. “I love you today more than yesterday…which was more than the day before…and so on and so forth. Here’s to many more years together! [love] you!” Underwood captioned a photo of her and Fisher.
The couple was dating for a year before getting engaged in 2009. They got married on Lake Oconee, Ga., in July 2010 in front of 250 friends and family.
Underwood, 35, and Fisher, 38, have mostly avoided divorce rumors until, in February, some speculated they were headed for a split. The hockey player quickly squashed those rumors, telling a fan he and Underwood have “never been better.”
Underwood has stayed relatively out of the spotlight since she received nearly 50 stitches due to a nasty fall outside her Nashville home last November. The singer later wrote in a “letter to fans,” posted on her website that the “freak accident” forced her to spend more time with her husband and son Isaiah.
She called the “forced relaxation” the silver lining after the fall.
Underwood returned to the stage at the Academy of Country Music Awards in April.
