Oscar-nominated actor Bradley Cooper has been in the Hollywood spotlight for years, starring in several blockbuster films, including "Guardians of the Galaxy," "A Star is Born" and "The Hangover."

While fans grew to adore the variety of characters he’s portrayed in his popular movies, Cooper, 48, recently cleared the air about several misconceptions about his famous roles. He additionally gave a behind-the-scenes glimpse of a few film productions, including a surprise casting idea for one of his Oscar-winning films.

During an appearance on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM show, the actor brought up the fact that he wanted the radio host to be cast as his brother in "A Star is Born."

"I told two or three people in my life that you offered me that role in ‘A Star is Born’ and they look at me like ‘what the f---, you didn’t do it?’ I go ‘No!’ I think the guy who ended up doing the role was fantastic," Stern said.

And Cooper clarified, "Just so it’s clear, that was before… the role, that was written for the person who played it… This was early, early things swimming in my head when I offered it to you."

"I couldn’t believe how gentle your eyes are, how kind your eyes are, like, you can’t even hide it," Cooper continued.

Stern said he was initially surprised that Cooper asked him to be a part of the movie and imagined their roles would be similar to Danny DeVito’s and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s in "Twins."

"I went, ‘No sh--, that’s kind of intriguing,’" Stern said, revealing that he considered shaving his head for the role. "I was really toying with the idea."

The role of the brother in "A Star is Born" was eventually played by actor Sam Elliott, and Cooper starred alongside mega pop star Lady Gaga.

Stern added that he was open to the idea of collaborating with Cooper in future movie projects if the opportunity arises.

"I have to figure out the right thing so that you’ll say yes," Cooper said.

Meanwhile, Cooper strongly debunked rumors about his character, Rocket Raccoon, in the popular "Guardians of the Galaxy" films.

While many perceive his character’s voice was created using artificial effects, Cooper said he’s highly offended by that belief.

"What did you do with your voice? Do you put something on your voice?" Howard Stern asked Cooper during his SiriusXM radio show.

"No, nothing," Cooper said. "They asked that about Rocket Raccoon … I took major offense to that."

While Stern, 69, wasn’t convinced that Cooper’s voice was fully Rocket Raccoon’s, the Hollywood actor replied in the character’s voice.

"Unless they’re lying to me, they have not augmented it at all," Cooper added.

"Every time I watch Rocket Raccoon, I can’t wrap my head around the fact that that’s you," Stern said.

Cooper continued to explain that he didn’t prepare for his Rocket Raccoon voice when he worked on the Marvel films.

"No, no prep, I just go in there and start," he said.

"We do it like a play … [director James Gunn] reads all the other characters, and I play Rocket, and that’s how we do it the first round, and it’s really wonderful," Cooper said. "And then after all that gets laid in, you just keep honing it or working on other things or improvising."

Although Cooper made his on-camera debut in "Sex and the City" in 1999, his first major breakout role was in the 2009 comedy "The Hangover."

With the success of the hit movie's sequels, Cooper recently said that he would immediately sign up to do "Hangover 4."

"I would probably do ‘Hangover 4’ in an instant," Cooper told "Entertainment Tonight." "Just because I love Todd, I love Zach, I love Ed so much."

Although the "Maestro" star is enjoying working on other film projects at the moment, he noted he doesn’t think the director, Todd Phillips, would be on board for another "Hangover" sequel.

Another big topic Cooper recently discussed is how he helped Brooke Shields during a medical emergency.

Earlier this month, Shields revealed that she suffered a grand mal seizure and that Cooper came to her rescue.

The 58-year-old actress described the incident during her Glamour 2023 Women of the Year interview, saying she was "frothing at the mouth, totally blue, trying to swallow my tongue. The next thing I remember, I’m being loaded into an ambulance. I have oxygen on."

When she awoke in the ambulance, she realized, "Bradley f---ing Cooper is sitting next to me, holding my hand."

The "Blue Lagoon" star said the experience was "surreal" and that she could barely wrap her head around the actor’s presence.

"I didn’t have a sense of humor. I couldn’t really get any words out," she told Glamour. "But I thought to myself, ‘This is what death must be like.’ You wake up and Bradley Cooper’s going, ‘I’m going to go to the hospital with you, Brooke,’ and he’s holding my hand. And I’m looking at my hand, I’m looking at Bradley Cooper’s hand in my hand, and I’m like, ‘This is odd and surreal.’"

Cooper was called after the sommelier at the restaurant first tried to reach Shields’ husband, Chris Henchy, and through an assistant reaching out to another assistant, he was called and happened to be nearby.

"His assistant called Bradley and said, ‘Brooke’s on the ground. Chris isn’t around. Go get her.’ And he came, and somebody called the ambulance. And then it was like, I walked in with Jesus."

About the scare, Cooper told "Extra," "I was happy to be in the right place at the right time."

Shields and Cooper starred in the 2008 film "Midnight Meat Train" and have apparently remained friendly ever since.
