Antonio Villaraigosa & Lu Parker End Romance

All good things must come to an end.

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and his longtime girlfriend, Lu Parker, are no longer an item, Parker’s rep told the Los Angeles Times.

"I can confirm that Lu Parker ended her three-year committed relationship with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa as of May 25," Juliette Harris, owner of It Girl Public Relations, told the newspaper.

Harris did not give any specifics as to why Villaraigosa, a Mexican-American, and Parker split.

Villaraigosa, who in September will chair the Democratic National Convention in North Carolina, dated Parker for three years. Neither party has opened up about their breakup.

Parker, who lived with the mayor in his mansion, was accustomed to attending charity events and was always seen with Villaraigosa on the red carpet in social gatherings.

But as of lately, the two have rarely been seen together, says the L.A. Times, adding that one of the last times the former Miss USA and now KTLA –TV anchor was seen with Villaraigosa was when she attended his State of the City speech on April 20.

The two later posed together at BritWeek, the publication reported, an event which highlights California’s bond with Great Britain.

The mayor’s lips were sealed on Monday when he was spotted at the Aspen Ideas Festival in Colorado. The L.A. Times says that recently Villaraigosa referred to a reporter as an “idiot” after he asked him about Parker.

"My personal life isn't any of your business any more than yours is mine," Villaraigosa said on Wednesday at an event in Loyola Marymount University.

Villaraigosa and Parker’s breakup comes just as the mayor nears the end of his term. He is also heavily involved in President Obama’s reelection campaign, raising funds in recent months and making television appearances.

Villaraigosa was married for 20 years but the union ended after he had a highly publicized affair with Univision reporter Mirthala Salinas, who was suspended and relocated by the station after their relationship became public. After the two broke up, he started dating Parker.
