Shohreh Aghdashloo has starred in more than 20 films since she came to the United States from Iran, but the actress is probably best known for her memorable role as a female terrorist on "24."
She told Fox News her time on Kiefer Sutherland’s show ended far too soon. Aghdashloo dished that she clashed with the famed actor and she suspects he may have had a role in her character being killed off the series.
"I’m afraid working with him proved to be hard. That young man was pretty angry," she said during an appearance on "Fox & Friends." "At the end of the day, I thought he was angry with himself."
She said her character’s death was not initially part of the show’s course.
"The plot changed. I have a feeling that he did [have a role in my departure]."
She said her role as a terrorist, which lasted for 12 episodes, also raised some issues with people in her home country.
"Some Iranians were unhappy with the role," she explained. "I kept telling them that the reason I accepted the role wasn’t political at all."
She said she took the controversial role because it was complex and challenging.
Aghdashloo, 61, discusses the series and her life in Hollywood in her new memoir, "The Alley of Love and Yellow Jasmines." The book also delves into her childhood in Iran.
"It’s mostly about my life in Iran, in England and now in the United States."
