Saudi Arabia wants the United Nations to step in and condemn any country or group that makes fun of religion.
"It is our duty and that of every Muslim to protect Islam and defend the prophets,” Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz said during a meeting of religious leaders at his palace Saturday, the AFP reports. "I demand a UN resolution that condemns any country or group that insults religions and prophets.”
The comments were made after a US-made film that insulted Islam was cited as a factor in Middle East protests.
Saudi Arabia had Google block the film within its borders, the AFP reports.
