HONG KONG – An Indonesian official says both victims in a double murder case that has shocked Hong Kong were Indonesian women.
Indonesian Consulate spokesman Sam Aryadi confirmed Tuesday that a second victim found dead in an upscale apartment over the weekend was 29-year-old Seneng Mujiasih, from the city of Muna on Sulawesi island.
Hong Kong police had earlier identified one of the victims as Sumarti Ningsih, whom Aryadi said Monday was an Indonesian woman from central Java.
Police have charged British banker Rurik George Caton Jutting with killing the two women. The 29-year-old has yet to enter a plea in the case.
Police said Jutting took them to his apartment early Saturday when they found the bodies.
Ayradi said that Mujiasih had overstayed her domestic worker visa.
