Authorities say a tornado damaged two homes and a metal barn northwest of Indianapolis.

The National Weather Service posted on Twitter that a storm survey near Zionsville shows the tornado Thursday afternoon was an EF-1 with estimated winds of 100 mph.

Boone County Sheriff Mike Nielsen said one of his deputies saw the tornado touch down, pick up the barn and slam it back down to the ground.

Zionsville police say the storm also damaged two homes.

No injuries were reported.

The weather service says an emergency manager reported 1.75-inch hail in Rush County, about 40 miles southeast of Indianapolis.
