TYNGSBOROUGH, Mass. – A school bus driver in northern Massachusetts blew more than three times the legal limit after crashing his bus into a smaller one Monday afternoon.
MyFoxBoston reports 37-year-old Erik K. Paulik was charged with operating under the influence of intoxicating liquor, child endangerment while operating under the influence, and failure to slow down while approaching an intersection after the crash.
Police say Paulik was tailing a smaller school bus in his bus when the smaller bus stopped at an intersection. Paulik plowed his bus into the smaller one, causing damage but no reported injuries.
Paulik was given a field sobriety test and was found to have a blood alcohol level of .27, more than three times the legal limit.
Paulik was driving two adult bus monitors and four students, while the smaller bus was also carrying four students.
